Iron Studios Take The X-Men Back The 90s With Bishop And Omega Red Statues

The war against the Sentinels is starting to look like it’ll be in the X-Men’s favor with all of the new additions that Iron Studios is throwing into the mix. As part of their X-Men Vs. Sentinel Diorama series of 1/10 scale statues, the company has been adding single releases of different X-Men and their villains and we’ve just discovered more. The villainous Russian super-soldier Omega Red and the time-displaced future warrior, Bishop!

Being such a popular part of Wolverine’s mythos, you’d think there would be more collectible merchandise of Omega Red, but there really isn’t much. So this piece from Iron Studios should make plenty of Omega fans pretty darn happy.

Created by superstar artist Jim Lee, Omega Red has a very striking design. The sculptors and painters have translated that into an equally striking statue judging from the promotional photos.

The villain’s pose and the twirl of his mechanical tentacles immediately convey the danger of the mutant in a way that looks cool in the collection and remains true to the origins of the character. I can’t wait for this guy.

Bishop, the policeman from a dystopian future that travels back in time to join his heroes, the X-Men, is another surprising and perfect choice for the cast of mutants.

Like Omega Red, Bishop was created in the 1990s, which some consider a dark time for comics. That said, he’s maintained plenty of popularity since his first appearance.

Iron Studios smartly picked the character’s classic outfit and somewhat dated hairstyle. Say what you will about his haircut, this is the iconic look for the hero.

As long as Iron Studios continues to surprise collectors with the X-cellent character reveals, this line looks to be one that goes down in history.

Both the Iron Studios Marvel Comics Bishop BDS Art Scale 1/10 Statue and the Iron Studios Marvel Comics Omega Red BDS Art Scale 1/10 Statue are available for pre-order now and are slated to release in June of 2021.

“Emerging on torn pieces of Sentinels, on the rubble of the Alicerses of Mansion X, the red-white mutant known as Omega Red is revealed by Iron Studios, to add in its colossal BDS (battle diorama) “X-Men vs. Sentinels”. A former soldier and convicted serial killer from the former USSR, the mutant Arkady Gregorivich Rossovich was used in a Soviet super soldier project that left his skin white and turned him into a cyborg with retractable tentacles implanted in his arms, made of radioactive carbon dioxide (a malleable variation of adamantium), which they use as weapons or to drain the life force of their victims. His carbon dioxide implants are great weapons, but they also poison him slowly, so he is forced to regularly drain a person’s vital energy, or take small amounts from several individuals, to temporarily maintain his immune system, so this vampiric tendency is essential for his survival.”

“The atmosphere of the 90s, with his most classic look, Lucas Bishop joins the Golden Team of the X-Men in fighting the Sentinels. The mutant policeman from an alternative dystopian future, where the Sentinels dominated America, returns to our timeline to add his experience and strength to his childhood heroes and idols, in the struggle to defeat the Sentinels and change a possible tragic future.
