Doctor Who Enters The Sixth Scale With Ninth And Tenth Doctor Figures

Doctor Who has been a British science fiction staple since the show premiered in the 1960s. In the early 2000s, the series rebooted and became a global phenomenon, casting the ninth actor to play the role of the alien explorer, The Doctor. That Ninth Doctor was then followed by his successors, the Tenth Doctor, and so on. Sixth Scale collectors are finally getting a chance to add these two iterations of character to their collections with Big Chief’s Ninth and Tenth Doctor figures, both available for preorder now!

Both Christopher Eccleston and David Tenant after him have proven to be two of the most iconic versions of the character of The Doctor. An alien time traveler from the planet Gallifrey, the Doctor regenerates into different forms whenever he dies, which makes it extremely convenient when it’s time to recast the role with a different actor.

Big Chief has given us solid Sixth Scale recreations of both actors, sculpting some excellent likenesses for their portraits. The outfits for both are also quite well-tailored, capturing their classic outfits we’ve all seen them wear so often. Of course, both Doctors come included with, amongst other accessories, their sonic screwdrivers. I love that Big Chief saw fit to give collectors both extended and regular versions, allowing for some display variety with the figures.

Both the Big Chief Studios Definitive Series Doctor Who – Ninth Doctor Sixth Scale Figure and the Big Chief Studios Definitive Series Doctor Who – Tenth Doctor Sixth Scale Figure are available for preorder now. Both releases are slated to drop Q1, 2024.

“The sole survivor of the Last Great Time War, the Ninth Doctor was an intense and emotional incarnation. Hiding his psychological trauma behind madcap wit and frivolity, he took Rose Tyler to see the end of the world, inspired Charles Dickens, and showed that for once, everybody could live. After Rose defeated the Daleks using the power of the time vortex, the Doctor saved her by transferring that dangerous power into his own body. The strain destroyed his every cell and as Rose watched, his body exploded with raging energy.

“Waking on Christmas Day in his new form, the Doctor fought the Sycorax high above London, where he lost a hand but grew a new one with remnant regenerative power. During his travels he battled Cybermen, werewolves, and possibly, the Devil itself. He defeated his nemesis the Master once more and met River Song for the first time. After a confrontation with the Time Lords, and fatally dosed with radiation, the Tenth Doctor’s song ended. His violent regeneration burned the TARDIS and sent it crashing through space.
