A Guide to Every Hot Toys Star Wars Stormtrooper Sixth Scale Figure, Part II

In Part I of our list covering every variation of the iconic Stormtrooper that Sixth Scale figure manufacturer Hot Toys has produced, we focused on the classic design seen in the Original Trilogy of films. As seen in the films Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi, that classic style has stood the test of time to become an instantly recognizable image for fans and non-fans alike.  This second installment brings us to the modern Sequel Trilogy and the figures based on the redesigned Stormtrooper armor that was first seen in The Force Awakens. Just as we did before, this...

Every Hot Toys Sixth Scale Joker Figure, Ranked

The Joker is the quintessential Batman villain that has truly been elevated over the decades to an infinitely fascinating character in his own right. As a result of that strength of personality, the Joker has been brought to life by several amazing actors in various media. There have been a healthy number of Jokers over the years produced by Hot Toys, so we thought we'd take a quick look at them all and rank them as best as...

A Guide To Every Sixth Scale Wolverine Figure Ever Made

Despite all of their popularity, the X-Men have often struggled to spin-off their characters into solo success. That is, with the exception of one lone amnesiac loose cannon and his six adamantium claws. Everyone loves Wolverine, whether it be in the comics, on the movie screen, or in cartoons. Such perennial popularity has inspired plenty of collectibles based on the character, including those of the Sixth Scale variety. We're going to take a look at every 1/6 scale Wolverine figure ever made (at least that we know of) in order to see which of the Wolverines you absolutely must...

What The Heck Is Hot Toys Cosbaby Line?

When you think of Hot Toys, the Hong Kong-based manufacturer of incredibly lifelike Sixth Scale action figures, it’s unlikely that the first thing that comes to mind is Chibi-style minifigures. However, since 2008, the company’s Cosbaby line of collectibles, which does indeed feature these types of figures, has been gaining in popularity more and more.  Cosbabies are distinguished by their overly large heads (which make their bodies seem squat in comparison), huge Anime-like eyes, animated facial features and smaller size. The average figure measures about 3"- 4" tall, though the line has dabbled in both smaller and larger sizes for...

What If The Marvel Heroes We Love Were Played By Someone Else?

The Marvel “What If...?” series was a book I read as a kid that would put a spin on the normal for everybody’s favorite comic book characters. Taking the mythology of a character and changing one major detail was exciting and often times lead to a cool alternate take on that character. Lucky for us, Disney+ will be releasing a "What If...?" Series, with the first episode to be streaming in 2021. This series will follow the Marvel Universe anthology and apply the the classic twist to those movies. For instance, what if Peggy Carter was given the super...

5 X-Men 1/6 Scale Figures Toys Era Should Make Next

There's nothing sadder than a market that is begging to be tapped, but somehow goes ignored. Despite Hot Toys gaining the license to the Fox X-Men franchise of films years ago, they only managed to make seven Sixth Scale figures based off of them. Of those seven figures, four of them are Wolverine and three are Deadpool. That is all. A franchise filled with over forty characters ripe for the making, and we get two of them. Over and over and over. Sigh. It’s no surprise, then, that third party company Toys Era has been quite so successful capitalizing on the...

5 Sixth Scale Figures Hot Toys Really Should Reissue

Collecting high-end action figures can be unforgiving. Oftentimes, when you have a chance to grab a release, that opportunity truly is singular. In the world of limited-edition collectibles, there aren’t many second shots or do-overs. This can be frustrating at times. As time goes by, production techniques evolve, becoming more sophisticated, allowing companies like Hot Toys to make better and better looking figures. Looking back at an older release can be disappointing, either because you can only imagine how improved it would look today or because you just can’t afford a rare figure that you missed when it first...
