Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Sovereign Knight: Batman Previews Exclusive Review

There is no lack of Batman in Mezco Toyz One: 12 Collective line.  Many collectors would argue that there need never be another Batman figure released, even. I do not count myself as one of those collectors, but I do admit to being a tad burned out on the Caped Crusader train. I have owned nearly every iteration of the Dark Knight that Mezco has ever released since the first one back in 2015. I also already own the Onyx Edition of this Sovereign Knight Batman, so that was yet another point against me having any excitement going into this release....

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Netflix Punisher Review

Frank Castle is the latest release from Mezco Toyz adaptations of the popular Marvel Netflix universe characters. Inspired by his appearance in season 2 of Daredevil, this figure is a more grounded take on the Punisher. While the figure itself looks great, it’s value is weakened by limited accessories and difficult posing. The Punisher’s own Netflix solo series may not be the best representation of the character from the comics, but Jon Bernthal’s performance definitely makes it hard to see anyone else in the role. Despite its shortcomings, this release is one to keep an eye out for. DESIGN 10/10 This...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Commissioner Gordon and Bat-Signal Review

There are some supporting characters that can become so ingrained in a franchise that it can be difficult imagining said franchise without them. James Gordon definitely fits that bill, whether as Commissioner, detective or captain. The face of the Gotham City Police Department in the Batman mythos, Gordon finally gets the One:12 Collective treatment, ahead even of other, more obvious choices like Robin or Batgirl. Released as one of three San Diego Comic-Con 2019 exclusives, Gordon is packed in with another important icon from the Batman world, the Bat-Signal. Let’s take a look at both collectibles and find out...

Hot Toys PS4 Spider-Man Advanced Suit (VGM031) Review

When I first learned that Hot Toys had gained the license to the PlayStation 4 Exclusive Spider-Man video game, I could hardly contain my excitement. As much as I have enjoyed the company’s sixth scale Spider-Man figures in the past, those were all based on movies. Now, I like a Spider-Man film as much as the next person, but my heart will always lie with the original comic books. This Video Game Masterpiece series is still not technically based on the comics, but the game contains plenty of alternate skins that allow you to give your Spidey avatar different...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Gomez: Street Edition Review

Photo: Calvin Le Overcoming most One: 12 fans’ doubts about the Gomez figure with the initial “Agent Edition” release, Mezco Toyz decided to double-down on the character fairly quickly with this “Street Edition” entry. Released as a San Diego Comic-Con 2019 exclusive, Street Gomez takes everything lovers of the initial iteration enjoyed and gives it a more casual, funky flavor. Let’s take a look. The packaging here isn’t as visually interesting as the second release of the Agent Edition that came with a comic book, unfortunately. It’s actually the exact same black box as the Toy Fair version, just with a...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Gomez: Agent Edition (w/ Comic) Review

When Mezco first hinted that they would be giving their mascot the One:12 Collective treatment, most fans and collectors balked. In this community, everyone has an opinion of what character should be released next. Giving people something they didn’t even ask for is a definite fast track to lots and lots of Internet griping. However, when the first Agent Gomez was released during Toy Fair, many saw the error of their ways. Gomez was a fantastic figure, and, most importantly, a lot of fun. This past week has seen the re-release of everyone’s favorite dapper cockroach, this time with...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Batman v Superman Batman Review

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of those movies that people love or hate. Whichever side you fall on, you can agree that one of the most universally liked aspects of the film is Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the Bat of Gotham. He brought a certain intensity to the role that I haven’t seen in any other live-action portrayal of Batman. With a suit heavily inspired by The Dark Knight Returns, written by Frank Miller, I don’t think Batman has ever looked better on screen. Other than a few minor differences from the actual suit, Mezco Toyz...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Joker: Clown Prince of Crime Edition Review

THE CLOWN PRINCE OF CRIME is the latest Summer release from Mezco Toyz, and the second Joker in the One:12 Collective. This take on the character seems to be influenced by punk and rockabilly styles which is something we don't traditionally see from the character outside of the version of Joker we saw in the film Suicide Squad. Initially I was not a fan of the overall design because of the color and style choices but in hand the figure does look really great. While the figure does not come with a ton of accessories compared to other One:12...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Diabolik Review

DIABOLIK is the titular character of a popular Italian comic book series created in 1962 by sisters Angela and Luciana Giussani . I admit, I was unfamiliar with the character before Mezco Toyz brought him into the One:12 Collective. After doing some research and spending time with the figure, I can now understand why Diabolik gained so much popularity. A master thief who typically steals from criminals for his own benefit, Diabolik uses various gadgets and weapons to assist in his heists. For Mezco Toyz, Diabolik is an atypical foray into the world of pulp, and I hope they...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Daredevil – Vigilante Edition Review

The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is my favorite Marvel character. Netflix’s Daredevil is proof of how engaging these comics and characters can be. I was very excited when Mezco Toyz announced that they would be bringing Charlie Cox’s character into its One:12 Collective line. And while there are a lot of things Mezco nailed with this figure, there are also a few unfortunate missteps. Here are my thoughts.. DESIGN: 9/10 This particular look for Daredevil is based off the characters initial costume from Season 1 of the series, which in itself is inspired by Frank Miller’s design. A similar costume is...
