The Flash Speeds Into Collector Hands as Hot Toys Announces 1/6 Figure Pre-Order

“Run, Barry, run!” While fans of the DC Cinematic universe have been impatiently waiting for an Ezra Miller-lead Flash movie to somehow materialize after years of stops and stutters, Grant Gustin has been dependably chugging along as the CW’s Flash in the TV show of the same name. Considering how popular the show is and how long its been airing, it’s a little surprising that Hot Toys took this long to make a Sixth Scale figure of this iteration of the Flash. Whatever the case, the Scarlet Speedster has finally arrived! Premiering back in 2014, the show has been a fairly dependable amount...

Hot Toys completes lineup with Avengers: Endgame – Thor and Hulk Pre-Orders!

Praise Odin, Fat Thor has finally arrived! And he’s not alone. Two of the more controversial narrative decisions from Avengers: Endgame were to make Thor overweight and to make the Hulk smart. Fans were split down the middle whether or not they enjoyed the out-of-the-box directions. I would argue that, even if you would have preferred to see the Hulk smashing with abandon or Thor looking buff and heroic, you have to respect the filmmakers choosing to zig when you were convinced that they would zag.  Hot Toys has just given us even more cause to enjoy the film’s choices...

5 Things You Might Not Know About Hot Toys

Hot Toys has been around for the better part of 20 years, and in that time they have become the definitive sixth scale figure manufacturer in the world. Heck, some might argue that they’re the best toy company, period. That opinion is definitely up for debate, but what is not is the fact that there’s a whole lot more to Hot Toys than some collectors might know. Perhaps you’re aware of every tidbit on this list, or you know just a few. Either way, sit back and relax as we spotlight five lesser-known facts only true collectors know about...

5 X-Men 1/6 Scale Figures Toys Era Should Make Next

There's nothing sadder than a market that is begging to be tapped, but somehow goes ignored. Despite Hot Toys gaining the license to the Fox X-Men franchise of films years ago, they only managed to make seven Sixth Scale figures based off of them. Of those seven figures, four of them are Wolverine and three are Deadpool. That is all. A franchise filled with over forty characters ripe for the making, and we get two of them. Over and over and over. Sigh. It’s no surprise, then, that third party company Toys Era has been quite so successful capitalizing on the...

Top 10 Unreleased Hot Toys Prototypes

If you are anything like me and most Hot Toys collectors you probably scour forums and social media on a routine basis in search of a glimpse of what is new to come from your favorite brands. Whether it be figure or collectible showcases at conventions or Hot Toys releasing promo images on Facebook or Instagram we get an opportunity to salivate at the thought of a new sixth scale figure to display in our collection. For example, with the announcement of the Homemade Suit from Spider-Man: Far From Home being re-issued, the real take-away for collectors was the...

NO ILLUSION! Hot Toys Announces Spider-Man: Far From Home Mysterio Figure for Pre-Order..

Yes, it’s been just over two months since the release of Spider-Man: Far from Home in theaters, but collectors were already giving up on seeing Hot Toys announce a sixth scale figure based on the film’s mysterious illusionist.  That might seem like jumping the gun, but Spider-Man fans have been burned before. Despite showing off a prototype of the Vulture, the villain from previous entry Spider-Man: Homecoming, no figure was ever actually solicited. So when what seemed to be a Mysterio prototype appeared in promotional photos for other Far From Home Spider-Man figures, people were still doubtful. All of the naysaying was for naught, apparently,...

Hot Toys gives you a Second Chance to go Homemade with Spider-Man!

Second chances can be funny things. We rarely get them, but sometimes life surprises you and you get more than one.  I remember having the original Hot Toys releases of the Tech Suit and the Homemade Suit from Spider-Man: Homecoming in my cart, and for one reason or another, I skipped buying them. Fast forward passed years of regret and self-flagellation, and despite all odds, Hot Toys has given me (and you) a second chance at both figures.  The Tech Suit was re-released a few months ago as the Far From Home Movie Promo Edition, and today we have a new pre-order for the...

Hot Toys PS4 Spider-Man Advanced Suit (VGM031) Review

When I first learned that Hot Toys had gained the license to the PlayStation 4 Exclusive Spider-Man video game, I could hardly contain my excitement. As much as I have enjoyed the company’s sixth scale Spider-Man figures in the past, those were all based on movies. Now, I like a Spider-Man film as much as the next person, but my heart will always lie with the original comic books. This Video Game Masterpiece series is still not technically based on the comics, but the game contains plenty of alternate skins that allow you to give your Spidey avatar different...

Hot Toys Figures That Look Identical To the Actor

Attempting to capture an actor’s likeness in action figure form can be an incredible feat. More often than not, some tiny detail or imperfection in an actor’s chin or nose will fail to be properly reproduced, throwing off the entire sculpt. Sometimes a figure will succeed from one angle, but when viewed from another, they fall flat. The Hong Kong-based toy manufacturer Hot Toys has long been known as the top name in movie collectibles. Their sixth scale figures seem to work some manner of dark magic that allows them to steal a little bit of the actors’ souls,...

A Sith Lord returns and a piece of Iron Man’s heart as Hot Toys announces two new releases!

Fans who actually gave the Solo: A Star Wars Story film a chance (I thought it was great fun, sue me!) were met with shock at the surprise return of the sadistic Darth Maul to the Star Wars films. Just as surprising, considering Solo’s abysmal box office and unfortunate fan reaction, Hot Toys has just announced a Maul, based on his appearance in the film, as the newest entry into their Sixth Scale Star Wars line.  The former Sith Lord comes with plenty of exciting features and accessories, chief among them that “in motion” lightsaber blade attachment. I knew we...
