By Crom, Mezco Toyz Has Welcomed Conan Into The One: 12 Collective!

Mezco Toyz Conan the Barbarian One:12 Collective Figure is available for Pre-Order now @ ToyOrigin.com for $89.99 USD and is slated to drop Quarter 3 of 2020. Enjoy 5% Reward Points (cash back) with your Pre-Order! Most action figure collectors and casual fantasy readers of a certain age immediately think of Arnold Schwarzenegger when they hear the name “Conan”. However, for diehard fans, two names will instead come to mind: the character’s creator, author Robert E. Howard, and famed fantasy artist Frank Frazetta.  Frazetta, in seven paintings of the Cimmerian adventurer, utterly defined the Conan we picture in our mind’s eye,...

Mezco Toyz Stealth Drops New Pre-Order for Spider-Man Stealth Suit Figure!

I did not see Night Monkey coming. After Mezco did a surprise reveal of the One: 12 Collective Far From Home Upgraded Suit Spider-Man during San Diego Comic-Con last year, I just assumed that a Stealth Suit pre-order would follow closely behind. However, as summer became fall and fall became Winter, my confidence faded bit by bit. By the time we reached Thanksgiving, NYCC in the rearview mirror, I was instead convinced of the opposite opinion, in no way expecting a Stealth Suit to materialize at all. Well, Mezco fooled us all. They waited until just a month or two before their...

Mezco Announces The New One:12 Collective Popeye and Bluto: Stormy Seas Ahead 2-Pack!

If you had told most collectors that one of the best action figures of 2018 was going to be a Popeye figure, they'd have laughed you out of whatever Facebook group they were trolling in. Despite all odds, though, Mezco gave the One:12 Collective treatment to the old Sailor Man and it was indeed a resounding success. Mixing just the right amounts of artistic interpretation and real-world aesthetic gave their Popeye figure a winning recipe. After following up with a Mezco Direct Exclusive version that came in some of the most clever packaging ever, it looks like Mezco Toyz...

The End Gets Even More Supreme With Mezco’s New Previews Exclusive Supreme Knight: Batman

Mezco Toyz finale to their Batman trilogy of action figures has already seen its regular release go up for pre-order not long ago. Following hot on the heels of that initial announcement, their Previews Exclusive take has arrived with a palette swap and a few differences with the many accessories.  Representing the Dark Knight in his golden years, the PX Supreme Knight goes with the blue, gold and yellow color motif this time around. Evocative of his more Caped Crusader-style look, Batman leans into that vibe even more with the longer-eared cowl. Rounding out the costume changes is the oval...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Green Lantern John Stewart Review

When Mezco Toyz announced a Green Lantern would be joining the One:12 Collective line, I was slightly surprised that they went with John Stewart at the time. Hal Jordan was the more obvious choice, I thought. (They'd end up soliciting him as a Previews Exclusive release soon after John, anyway.) Then I remembered John's starring role as the resident Green Lantern of the Justice League Unlimited cartoon and it all clicked for me. For a recent generation of fans, John is their Green Lantern. He was just as obvious a choice as Hal; it just depends on when you became...

A Beginner’s Guide to Collecting Mezco’s One: 12 Collective

Everyone has to start somewhere, and collectors are no different. Whether you’re entering the hobby on the ground floor, or you’re sliding over from collecting something else, there can be a lot to catch up on so you’re not left behind. Mezco’s One: 12 Collective line started nearly five years ago, back in 2015. In that short amount of time, they have become one of the most popular 6” figure lines in the market. Capturing the interest of fans that wanted something more high-end than a Marvel Legend or scaled smaller and cheaper than a Hot Toys figure, Mezco...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Sovereign Knight: Batman Previews Exclusive Review

There is no lack of Batman in Mezco Toyz One: 12 Collective line.  Many collectors would argue that there need never be another Batman figure released, even. I do not count myself as one of those collectors, but I do admit to being a tad burned out on the Caped Crusader train. I have owned nearly every iteration of the Dark Knight that Mezco has ever released since the first one back in 2015. I also already own the Onyx Edition of this Sovereign Knight Batman, so that was yet another point against me having any excitement going into this release....

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Commissioner Gordon and Bat-Signal Review

There are some supporting characters that can become so ingrained in a franchise that it can be difficult imagining said franchise without them. James Gordon definitely fits that bill, whether as Commissioner, detective or captain. The face of the Gotham City Police Department in the Batman mythos, Gordon finally gets the One:12 Collective treatment, ahead even of other, more obvious choices like Robin or Batgirl. Released as one of three San Diego Comic-Con 2019 exclusives, Gordon is packed in with another important icon from the Batman world, the Bat-Signal. Let’s take a look at both collectibles and find out...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Gomez: Street Edition Review

Photo: Calvin Le Overcoming most One: 12 fans’ doubts about the Gomez figure with the initial “Agent Edition” release, Mezco Toyz decided to double-down on the character fairly quickly with this “Street Edition” entry. Released as a San Diego Comic-Con 2019 exclusive, Street Gomez takes everything lovers of the initial iteration enjoyed and gives it a more casual, funky flavor. Let’s take a look. The packaging here isn’t as visually interesting as the second release of the Agent Edition that came with a comic book, unfortunately. It’s actually the exact same black box as the Toy Fair version, just with a...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Gomez: Agent Edition (w/ Comic) Review

When Mezco first hinted that they would be giving their mascot the One:12 Collective treatment, most fans and collectors balked. In this community, everyone has an opinion of what character should be released next. Giving people something they didn’t even ask for is a definite fast track to lots and lots of Internet griping. However, when the first Agent Gomez was released during Toy Fair, many saw the error of their ways. Gomez was a fantastic figure, and, most importantly, a lot of fun. This past week has seen the re-release of everyone’s favorite dapper cockroach, this time with...
