The End Gets Even More Supreme With Mezco’s New Previews Exclusive Supreme Knight: Batman

Mezco Toyz finale to their Batman trilogy of action figures has already seen its regular release go up for pre-order not long ago. Following hot on the heels of that initial announcement, their Previews Exclusive take has arrived with a palette swap and a few differences with the many accessories.  Representing the Dark Knight in his golden years, the PX Supreme Knight goes with the blue, gold and yellow color motif this time around. Evocative of his more Caped Crusader-style look, Batman leans into that vibe even more with the longer-eared cowl. Rounding out the costume changes is the oval...

A Beginner’s Guide to Collecting Mezco Toyz One: 12 Collective, Part II: Exclusives

As many collectors know, getting on the Mezco train can be a sometimes-infuriating experience. For every euphoric successful purchase of a surprise Mezco Exclusive, there’s a horrible disappointment waiting around the corner, most likely due to issues beyond collectors’ control. While collecting toys could and should always be fun, there is always a dark side that exists when you venture into the sub-category of high-end, sometimes exclusive collectibles. Mezco Toyz, as popular as they are, fall into this category pretty often. At the end of the day, it’s just good business for them. Difficult to obtain = Must Have....

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Black Bolt is Up for Pre-Order, And His Little Dog Too!

It’s been two years and change since Mezco showed them off during SDCC 2018, but the time has come. Collectors are finally able to pre-order that most dynamic of duos: Black Bolt and Lockjaw! Wait, who? Most casual comic book readers won’t be familiar with the Midnight King of the Inhumans, but Blackagar Boltagon has been around since the early years of the Fantastic Four series, having been created by none other than Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.  The ruler of a secret race of superhumans called the Inhumans, Black Bolt is always silent since he has the ability to trigger a massive shockwave...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Sovereign Knight Batman Review

With the release of the Sovereign Knight One:12 Collective Figure, Mezco marks the middle chapter of their own Batman “trilogy”; a unique take on the Caped Crusader that began with their Ascending Knight iteration, which was heavily inspired by the work of Bill Finger, and which will conclude with the recently solicited Supreme Knight, which borrows much from the works of Frank Miller. This figure, representing Batman at the apex of his crusade, borrows from multiple sources, such as the work of Jim Lee and Rocksteady Studios’ Batman: Arkham video games. The resulting look is something I’m not sure...

Mezco Toyz Deals You In With The One: 12 Collective Gambit Pre-Order

"Playin' for keeps is still playin', mon ami, so take a card...ANY CARD!" If you were a X-Men fan in the 1990s, whether comic book or cartoon, odds are that you either wanted to be Gambit or you wanted to kiss him. The suave master thief stole the hearts of many a geek in his heyday and continues to be a popular character even now. Mezco's One: 12 Collective line has just placed the Ragin' Cajun up for pre-order, making a whole lot of those fans happy. Teased back during Toy Fair of this year and fully revealed during San Diego...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Green Lantern John Stewart Review

When Mezco Toyz announced a Green Lantern would be joining the One:12 Collective line, I was slightly surprised that they went with John Stewart at the time. Hal Jordan was the more obvious choice, I thought. (They'd end up soliciting him as a Previews Exclusive release soon after John, anyway.) Then I remembered John's starring role as the resident Green Lantern of the Justice League Unlimited cartoon and it all clicked for me. For a recent generation of fans, John is their Green Lantern. He was just as obvious a choice as Hal; it just depends on when you became...

A Beginner’s Guide to Collecting Mezco’s One: 12 Collective

Everyone has to start somewhere, and collectors are no different. Whether you’re entering the hobby on the ground floor, or you’re sliding over from collecting something else, there can be a lot to catch up on so you’re not left behind. Mezco’s One: 12 Collective line started nearly five years ago, back in 2015. In that short amount of time, they have become one of the most popular 6” figure lines in the market. Capturing the interest of fans that wanted something more high-end than a Marvel Legend or scaled smaller and cheaper than a Hot Toys figure, Mezco...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Sovereign Knight: Batman Previews Exclusive Review

There is no lack of Batman in Mezco Toyz One: 12 Collective line.  Many collectors would argue that there need never be another Batman figure released, even. I do not count myself as one of those collectors, but I do admit to being a tad burned out on the Caped Crusader train. I have owned nearly every iteration of the Dark Knight that Mezco has ever released since the first one back in 2015. I also already own the Onyx Edition of this Sovereign Knight Batman, so that was yet another point against me having any excitement going into this release....

It’s the End of Batman as Mezco One: 12 Collective Batman: Supreme Knight goes up for Pre-Order!

Mezco loves Batman.  Their One:12 Collective line is full of variations of him, and while it can sometimes feel a bit tiresome, we have to give credit where credit's due. Despite there being any number of costumes and iterations from the comics or the films that they could simply base their figures on (and they do), Mezco Toyz decided to do something different.  In 2017, they revealed the Ascending Knight Batman, the first in a trilogy of Batman action figures that would tell their own story of the Caped Crusader's career. Earlier this year, the Sovereign Knight Batman dropped, to much...

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Commissioner Gordon and Bat-Signal Review

There are some supporting characters that can become so ingrained in a franchise that it can be difficult imagining said franchise without them. James Gordon definitely fits that bill, whether as Commissioner, detective or captain. The face of the Gotham City Police Department in the Batman mythos, Gordon finally gets the One:12 Collective treatment, ahead even of other, more obvious choices like Robin or Batgirl. Released as one of three San Diego Comic-Con 2019 exclusives, Gordon is packed in with another important icon from the Batman world, the Bat-Signal. Let’s take a look at both collectibles and find out...
